-----------
Over the past 2 years, Edlyft has grown to a vibrant community of CS students, mentors, alumni and tech company partners across the globe. As one year closes and 2023 begins, we’ve reflected on how grateful we are for this community and how our students show up willing to grow, share, and support each other. We are thrilled to explore new ways that we can empower students along their journey to landing in-demand jobs they’ll love and connect them with people who can help make that happen.
Edlyft launches a community Discord
With that said, today is is an exciting day at Edlyft as we announce that in the new year, we are officially transitioning our community from Slack to Discord and opening our support to any college student taking a Computer Science class (not just specific schools).
Who is Edlyft Discord For?
Edlyft’s Discord will be for any college student interested in Computer Science to find support, motivation and community as they embark on the challenges and triumphs of launching tech careers and studying Computer Science. Whether you’re considering taking your first CS class or an older student on your way out, Edlyft’s Discord will have a space for you.
After working with so many students, we saw that Discord is where students are most active and comfortable. Therefore, we’re excited to live by our value of being students-first to meet them where they are.
What will Edlyft Discord be used for?
We look forward to using our Discord to share new internships, mentorship, and mock interview opportunities. We’ll also invite students in our Discord to career prep events with guest speakers from our partner companies (like Dropbox, Airbnb, LinkedIn etc.). This is a community created by and for students, with input from you all on what you’d like to see or have access to. If it’s support on side-projects, connecting to students you can relate to, or finding a mentor in the industry, we’re creating this space to amplify our efforts in the most meaningful ways to you. We will continue to iterate and encourage student to share your feedback with us on what you would like to see from our Discord.
